Who is the Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?

I won't make you wait until the end of the post for the answer. It's children. It has always been children. Take a look at the high premium Jesus places on the value of children:

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me" Matthew 18:1–5.

If Christ is our example - the one after whom we are to model our life - then we must place this same value on the lives of our children. He blessed them, loved them, and was good to them! Here at GSF Church I've been given the incredible opportunity to grow our Sunday School program (known as KidzMin). Singing songs, playing games, and making crafts are fun and no one is a lover of fun more than I am, but the true measure of value of this KidzMin program is in that these kids are leaving with an understanding that God not only loves them, but wants to interact with them. Who better understands the need for dependency on God than children? When you can't provide for yourself you have to depend on a parent or grandparent to care for you. It's in this same spirit that we must depend on our loving Father. My prayer is that each of you find it to become like little children in the presence of your mighty Abba.
